digital opticals
Digital Opticals include fades, dissolves, freeze frames and speed shifts and reversals, image flops, reframing, and subtitles. Traditionally these effects were done on an optical printer. In the Digital Intermediate process, these effects can be produced individually, and the results can be viewed immediately. Once completed, the effects can be output to 35mm negative for cutting onto a conventionally negative-matched production, or can be integrated into the complete conform of a full Digital Intermediate process.
