A Digital Intermediate (DI) is the integration of several postproduction processes that allow filmmakers to evaluate and manipulate images prior to recording to film. Through scanning, assembly, color correction and digital opticals, a high resolution digital master can be created. This master can be recorded to film and any other medium such as a Digital Cinema Master, HD Masters, DVD and any combination of broadcast formats.
